Many research has been focused to HVI region but there is not enough information about HV2. This thesis reported the nucleotide sequence of HV2 from primary data and its mutation and also the mutation frequency of HV2 form secondary data. The strategy of this research included amplification of mtDNA using Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) technique and then sequencing using dideoksi Sanger method. The PCR product of 21 samples detection shown one fragment of 0,4 kb in sized on agarose gel, and sequencing samples resulted 6615 bp in range. It has been found that the mutation are ranging from 1 until 10. Both of mutation analysis from primary and secondary data are clasified into a haplogroup based on the amount of mutation and haplotype based on the position and type of mutation. Thus clarification yielded 8 haplogroups and 17 haplotypes and also 15 haplogroups and 1423 haplotypes each for primary data above and 6.543 secondary data. This results can be made as database of human mitochondrial nomenclature. The highly mutation of A263G and 315.1 C in this HV2 area indicated that this mutation are not specific to certain ethnical group.<p align="justify"> <br /> <br /> text
