DESIGN OF TRANSPORTATION FACILITIES FOR GUYUB TEDUH RESIDENCE

Design of transportation facilities are required for newly-built building in order to fullfil the needs of transportation facilities. In this case, Guyub Teduh Residence is a mixed-use building with residential and commercial function, located in Cibadak, Bandung. As a building with residential function, this building serves as a node of movement, which is the starting point and end point of a movement. Also, as a building with commercial function, this building serves as a node of movement. Thus, the design need to accommodate the needs of parking facilities, access road connecting the main road and parking area, and access for vehicles and heavy equipments during the construction period. Design of parking facilities encompass parking layout design, ramp design, traffic signs and markers design, and design of other parking facilities that are required. These designs have to fullfil the standard of minimum parking spaces requirement, and have a good performance. In this case, performance is measured through many parking characteristics such as parking index and parking turnover (PTO). Access road design comprises of geometric design (road width, number of lanes, etc.), and pavement design. Some basic consideration in the design process is that the access road have to be able to provide and facilitate vehicle movement. Moreover, in order to preserve the pavement quality, a surface drainage have to be design such that water does not inundate at the pavement surface. Finally, vehicles and heavy equipments needed for the construction project of Guyub Teduh Residence have to have a well-built access. Because of its location near area of high activity and many narrow streets, road widening are needed to be done on some road segments in order for the heavy equipments to be able to access the construction project site. Output of this final project is design of the aforementioned 3 aspects, which is parking facilities design, access road design, and construction project access road widening.
