INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/54209 Along with economic growth, energy demand in Indonesia has increased. One of sector that has experienced an increase in energy consumption is the household sector. The use of an Air Conditioner (AC) contributes 50% of the total household electricity needs. The demand for the AC market in the household sector has increased by 10% in the last 5 years in Southeast Asian countries and affect the number of air conditioners entering Indonesia. An increase in the number of air conditioners in the Indonesian market will increase national electricity demand. This study aims to update the threshold of the Minimum Energy Performance Standard (SKEM) in AC units in Indonesia. Assessment of performance parameters on the new SKEM uses the Cooling Seasonal Performance Factor (CSPF) with a calculation process based on ISO 16358-1. The shift in the efficiency assessment parameters requires a calculation program to convert the Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) into CSPF. The implementation of the new SKEM is expected to reduce the total energy consumption from the use of air conditioning and indirect CO2 emissions. The new SKEM is expected to encourage producers to increase the efficiency of air conditioners. The minimum level for the new SKEM is 3.1 W / W. The implementation of the new SKEM will provide energy savings of up to 21.59% - 26.3% in 2030. The percentage of savings is the result of a comparison with the total energy consumption according to Business as Usual (SMELL). The existence of energy savings also causes a reduction in CO2 emissions from energy use to reach 7.02Mton in 2030 or around 1.26% of the total CO2 emissions for the energy utilization sector. text |
