Description
Summary:This research is focused on the design and manufacture of high current measuring instruments using rogowski coil. A Rogowski coil is a wire wound on a toroid with an air core and has a reverse winding so that the two ends of the wire are at the same end. Rogowski coil converts the value of the current through it into a voltage that is proportional to the change in current with time. The Rogowski coil is connected to a conditioning circuit so that the resulting voltage is proportional to the current to be measured. The conditioning circuit is an integrator circuit with several other supporting circuits such as a series of amplifiers and phase shifts. In this research, class 0.5 rogowski coil was designed and made for current measurement at a 150 kV GIS with 3 kA nominal current and a short circuit current up to 30 kA. From the results of the Rogowski coil calibration, the sensitivity for measurements is 1A / 1.0994 mVpp and a protection sensitivity of 1A / 0.1079 mVpp.
