Description
Summary:The rapid growth of the economy has resulted in the agglomeration of cities thus forming a larger urban area, as happened in the Sarbagita area. The Sarbagita area which consists of Denpasar City, Badung Regency, Gianyar Regency and Tabanan Regency has formed a metropolitan area that becoming the center of the economy in Bali Province. The rapid growth of the Sarbagita tourism sector has created new activity centers and attracted commuting movements between regions. This condition results in changes in the structure of urban spaces which can have implications for policy. This study aims to identify the urban spatial structure from the movement patterns of commuters in Sarbagita by calculating the spatial interaction index, namely the entropy index (EI), dominance index (DII), relative strength index (RSI), node node index (NSI)). and link index (LSI). This study uses the Sarbagita commuter survey data conducted by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) in 2015. The results of the analysis show that the Sarbagita area has a polycentric structure with two dominant nodes. The two nodes also form a strong and equal interaction compared to other areas in Sarbagita.
