Description
Summary:Separator is a device for separating oil of the wells into components of gas, oil and water. Separators have an important role for the optimization the quantity of oil corresponding to the production target. In order to produce the quantity of oil corresponding to the production targets required a good separator design method. This final project is to design an optimal two-phase separator (oil-water) by using Grødal and Realff method. From the Grødal and Realff method was developed a calculation algorithm that will facilitate the calculation of the separator design. The algorithm is built by using iteration method with constraints on the design of the main variables. If the constrains do not meet, the re-calculation is made until the constraints of the design of the main variables are satisfied. For the optimation purpose, it has been performed a correlation between the parameters which have influence on the separator design. Results obtained from these correlation that the most influential parameters in determining the gravity settling separator and the inner diameter separator sequentially are API oil, liquid flow rate, oil viscosity and water cut. As for the high normal interface level, of the most influential separator is sequentially oil viscosity, API oil, water cut, and liquid flow rate. For the final result, this final project yields a proxy equation of design separator
