It will impact on production facility to be frequently turning off. One does, all system will turn off as consequent including flowline and production well then. Centrifugal pump is able to be utilized on subsea to supply sufficient pressure for fluid in riser base in order to be produced with stable flow without the existence of fluctuation indicating severe slugging. This study learn concerning the optimization of using centrifugal pump to increase the backpressure of fluid on riser base by doing design numerically for pump selection initial data and determining both it’s capability required and test of that by having production rate change. The observed system is pipes consisting of 6000 m horizontal tieback on sea bottom with elevated geometry and connected by riser to platform on the sea surface as 400 m of length. OLGA simulator is used to model and optimize pipe and insulator as well as to simulate fluid temperature, pressure, rate, fluid fraction, severe slugging formation, and evaluate the pump on riser base. PVTsim is fuctionated to simulate properties, phase envelope, wax, and hydrat equilibrium curve of the fluid. The use of centrifugal pump results stable pressure dan rate for flow with low pressure and prevents severe slugging that be able to stop the production process. The required pump’s capacbility is earned from simulating production using initial datas through numerical design. The change of production rate through pump requires different speed, power, and torque and stable flow with no severe slugging can be reached by controlling those parameters without exceeding maximum capability of pump. Centrifugal pump is able to operate to provide quite large differential pressure and effectively working on low gas fraction system. text
