ANALYSIS OF MORPHOLOGY IN RESPONSE TO TOD DEVELOPMENT BASED ON SPATIAL CONFIGURATION APPROACH (CASE STUDY: TUGU YOGYAKARTA STATION AREA)
Transit Oriented Development (TOD) is one of the concepts in urban planning related to the context of the movement. This concept emphasizes on the improvement of activity and movement in the transit areas, such as rail station and bus station. Along with the development, an analysis is needed relate...

This concept emphasizes on the improvement of activity and movement in the transit areas, such as rail station and bus station. Along with the development, an analysis is needed related to the readiness of the area around the TOD node in responding transit-based development efforts. This is because the readiness around the TOD area sometimes become an obstacle and problem in developing TOD, where the TOD area becomes less than optimal and the tendency to change into TAD (Transit Adjacent Development) area. The morphology of the area is a vital substance in the development of TOD where aspects of the movement and function of activities are also included in the morphological component, so it is necessary to analyze its potential and suitability level. The purpose of this research is to analyze the potential morphology of the area through a spatial configuration approach and the level of commercialization around Yogyakarta Tugu Station based on the existing area. The research method used is a deductive theory with a quantitative-exploratory approach. The main analysis method used in this research are space syntax analysis and analysis of the commercial level of the area. Space syntax analysis is used to measure the level of accessibility of the area through the morphology by using three properties, namely connectivity, integration and choice. Analysis of the commercial level is used to measure the degree of publicness of the area, based on existing condition. The result of this research showed how much the potential of the Yogyakarta Tugu Station area in the morphological context of the TOD development plan based on existing conditions. text |
