Shorea is the largest genus in Dipterocarpaceae family. There are 163 species from the genus spread out in Malesia including Sumatra, Kalimantan, Java, Moluccas and Philippine. Secondary metabolites included in the plant is rich of fenolic compound of resveratrol oligomers group. In this research, three new resveratrol tetramers, namely diptoindonesin A-l, diptoindonesin A-2, diptoindonesin A-3, along with three resveratrol oligomers have been known that is resveratrol trimer (+)-a-viniferin, resveratrol tetramers grandifenol B dan hopeafenol A. The determination of compounds structure has been defined based on the spectroscopic methods including UV, IR, NMR 1D and NMR 2D. The discovery of the five resveratrol tetramers is the earliest in the Shorea genus. The finding of the six compounds implies the chemotaxonomy that is very important for Shorea and for the relationships with other Dipterocarpaceae genus. In the thesis is also suggested new concept of biogenesis for resveratrol oligomer compounds, including six compounds have been isolated from S. platyclados. <br />
