Description
Summary:Currently , only few references that discuss the forecasting performance of steamflood operations . One of them is the correlation proposed by Myhill and Stegemeier in 1978. But this correlation still has a weakness that can only be used in the field which has a low gross reservoir thickness and the value of net to gross ratio is high ( more than 0.5 ) . Correlations for predicting the recovery factor that has resulted from previous studies need to be validated when used in a particular field . To produce a correlation capable of predicting steamflood performance accurately , analyzing the factors that affect the value of the recovery factor on the field is needed. This study describes the parameters which influence the value of recovery factor, including operating parameters, through sensitivity analysis using reservoir simulation. Furthermore, by using Design of Experiment (DOE) author may obtain relationship between the input parameter and recovery factor. Reservoir model is based on data from heavy oil field X. The parameters chosen for sensitivity analysis based on screening criteria by Hama et al. (2014), which represents the characteristics of the reservoir (permeability and porosity), the characteristics of the fluid (oil viscosity), and operating conditions (duration of injection and bottom-hole pressure injection wells). The simulation results are then processed using Two Level Full Factorial Design of Experiment to see the significance of each parameter on the recovery factor. Results from the DOE showed that all the selected parameters provide a significant effect on the recovery factor, which sequentially most influential parameter is the duration of injection, oil viscosity, permeability, BHP injection wells, and the last is the porosity. Regression model obtained give R2 value of 91%, so it can be said that these equations can be used to predict the recovery factor of heavy oil field X. The result of this equation is also compared with a correlation of Myhill and Stegemeier (1978) and Wiratma (2015). It shows that the proposed equation is simpler and still provide an accurate results.
