CHLOROPHYLL-A ANALYSIS WITH THE FLUORESCENCE METHODE IN JAVA SEA IN 2013-2017

The Java Sea is the water that becomes the estuary of major rivers on the islands of Sumatra, Java and Kalimantan and is a fishing location for fishermen. The Java Sea experiences considerable sedimentation in the coastal area which is the case-2 water area so that the detection of chlorophyll-a by satellites is not good enough. This is because the sediment has a green-yellow light spectrum similar to the chlorophyll-a pigment so that the sediment is considered chlorophyll. The purpose of this study was to examine the spatial and temporal distribution of chlorophyll-a using the fluorescence method in the Java Sea in 2013-2017. The study used fluorescence data in the form of Normalized Fluorescence Line Height (NFLH) level 3 Aqua MODIS with a resolution of 4 km, monthly period, 2013-2017. The results of the chlorophyll-a fluorescence image, in the case-2 water area, have a better correlation and error percentage to the field data than MODIS chlorophyll-a. The correlation value between chlorophyll-a fluorescence and field chlorophyll-a in the case-2 water area was 0.65 and the error percentage was 26.02%, while the correlation between chlorophyll-a MODIS and field chlorophyll-a was 0.64 and the percentage error was 0.64. 154.92% so that chlorophyll-a fluorescence is better than MODIS chlorophyll-a in estimating the chlorophyll-a concentration in the case-2 water area. text |
