Description
Summary:Since reform as a new province, the Banten Province, within the period of 2000-2010, has not been moving yet toward convergence, where it is shown that the Index of Gross Regional Domestic Product Per Capita Province is still below the National Index of Gross Domestic Product Per Capita of between 65 and 83 and within the year of 2010 of 72. Based on Banten 2010 I-O Table and the projected I-O Table in 2025, the value of final demand (Yi) in 2000 is of IDR 67.26 trillion, and in the year of 2010 of IDR 88.53 trillion, moreover final demand (Yi) in 2025 based on scenario 1 is of IDR 184,04 trillion, scenario 2 of IDR 212.16 trillion, and scenario 3 of IDR 244.25 trillion. Whereas, the total demand (Xj) in 2000 is of IDR 133.17 trilion and in 2010 of IDR 217.61 trillion. Meanwhile, it is projected in 2025, the total demand (Xj) based on scenario 1 is of IDR 452.40 trillion, scenario 2 of IDR 521.52 trillion, and scenario 3 of IDR 600.40 trillion. Based on the result of calculation of Location Quotient (LQ), Shift-Share, inter-sector linkage analysis of economic and multiplying effect in Banten Province, it is shown that the end product of basic metal of iron and steel industry sector is the highest LQ of 19.34, the highest of backward linkage of the end product metal industry sector is 1.41, the highest of forward linkage of the product of non-mineral industry sector of 2.72. Whereas, the sector which has the highest value added multiplying effect is product of non-mineral industry sector of 3.63. This mean that those sectors constitute the prime sectors of the Banten Province. Toward improvement of economic development, the total investment of Banten Province within 2011 up to 2025 would be IDR 250.73 trillion or the average each year of IDR 16.72 trillion. Whereas, the total investment of mineral and coal mining subsector up to the year of 2025 amounts to IDR 284.0 billion or the average each year of IDR 18.93 million. Based on this projected in investment, it is expected that these economic sectors could support the trend of convergence of Banten Province toward the economy national with the coming years.
