In the case of mineral exploitation in the urban area, the municipal government faced with the problem of land conflicts between land for mining use for the purpose of utilization of minerals, and land for residential areas and economic sectors with the limited carrying capacity of the environment and urban spatial. To handle these situations, it is important to analyze the allocation of mining area in the urban area, associated with the functions and carrying capacity of the city (in these cases coal mining in the city of Samarinda). In this study, conducted spatial analysis which includes the city of Samarinda city spatial utilization using spatial maps of the city and coal mining sector’s benefit and allocation. Obtained value of the carrying capacity of the city, the benefits of the sector in the city's economic growth, land use conversion, and spatial allocation of WIUP in urban areas. By considering wide and expiry date of the mining permit also the main function and carrying capacity of the city, the spatial allocation for mining coal in Samarinda is 25.893,98 ha or 36% of Samarinda territory. To solve the problem of the land allocation, the government should adjust mining activity to spatial strategy by considering mining open land, post minig plan and regional land use plan. text |
