Description
Summary:This research aims to determine the use of Multi Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) tool with the BCOR factor in making the best decision for operational and maintenance of flaring facility effort in oil and gas industry. Oil and gas industry has become the lifeblood and the backbone of energy resources in the world. The challenges faced to date are still the same, is how to meet world energy demand, but in the same time also to minimize the adverse impact on the environment. One of the effort is to maintain the good operations and maintenance of pollution control facilities, especially for flaring facility. PT. CPI is always committed to protecting the environment wherever it operates. Currently, is facing a problem with the operations and maintenance of one of the offline flaring facility. Considering all the business issues that now being faced, decision making using Multi Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) tool by using BCOR factor to get the best alternative for operations and maintenance of flaring facility effort is needed. In this final project, the MCDM that used is Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) model, there are 5 (five) layers of AHP structured, consist of : Goal, BCOR factor, Criteria, Sub-Criteria and Alternatives (considering technical aspects, safety aspects, environmental aspects, applicable legal or regulatory aspects and economical aspects, and other business issues). There are 11 Criteria and 31 subcriteria, and 2 alternatives from operations and maintenance flaring/EGF facility effort. The highest global BCOR weight is benefit, followed by risk and the third is cost, while the best alternative is to flare the gas to the nearest flaring/Egf facility. Implication from this research, sensitivity analysis as part of this MCDM tool, is important to help the management of PT. CPI (or other operator), determining the policy and practice considering the benefit, cost, opportunity and risk factor, on how to decide the appropriate and effective way for operational and maintenance efforts of flaring facilities at Thorn Field and other oil fields.
