Analysis of interface dynamics can be performed by theoretical and numerical studies. Dynamics of fluid interface involve capillary attraction and hydrodynamic interaction which can be characterized by Reynolds, Bond, and Capillary numbers. In this study, we study the dynamics of a spherical shell with a diameter of 4 cm partially floating on the surface of water. The shell is filled with water so that total mass is 21 g. The water used in this experiment has a density of 1000 kg.m-3. The shell is driven by an initial impulse produced by a spring-based propelling device. We then record the movement of the shell and its dynamics is analyzed by using tracker application. We observed that there is an acceleration as the shell reaches a certain distance from the boundary of the fluid container which indicates the role of an attraction force between the shell and the boundary wall. We then propose some models for the shell-wall interaction. We validate the proposed models and their parameter set through Adam Optimization. text
