One of factor affecting the achievements of the effectiveness of therapy is compliance. The effectiveness of therapy that affects the improvement of quality of life (QoL) patients is expected to be achieved with the high level of compliance. The goal of this study was to determine the effectiveness of therapy, compliance, and QoL in Prolanis and non-Prolanis patients and correlation between these three parameters. This was a descriptive cross-sectional study conducted concurrently (January –March 2018) in Puskesmas Ibrahim Adjie Bandung using validated questionnaires. Compliance measured with Modified Morisky Scale, while QoL measured with SF-6D. The effectiveness of therapy was determined by the achievement of patient's blood pressure to blood pressure target according to JNC VII. There were 40 Prolanis patients took 66 visits and 272 non- Prolanis patients took 301 visits analyzed in this study. The effectiveness of therapy in Prolanis patients were 46.97% and 25.91% in non-Prolanis patients, which was statistically significantly different (p<0.05). Compliance in Prolanis patients were 95.45% higher than non-Prolanis patients were 39.20% and this result showed significant difference (p<0.001). Prolanis patients had a mean of QoL 0.960 while non-Prolanis patients had a mean of QoL 0.886, which was statistically significantly different (p=0.001). There is a good correlation between compliance and effectiveness (r=0.750) and QoL with compliance (r=0.683) but not statistically significant (p>0.05). While QoL and effectiveness did not show correlation (r=-0.038; p>0.05). The data of this study indicate the need for counseling to improve compliance and the effectiveness of therapy in hypertensive patients. text
