ABSTRACT <BR />DESIGN EFFORTS IN INCREASING <BR />THE PRODUCTION QUALITY OF MASK INDUSTRY <BR />(CASE STUDY WORKER OF MASK PUTAT SUBDISTRICT PATUK, THE GUNUNG KIDUL)

he Putat mask craft industry in Patuk, Gunung Kidul, Yogyakarta has already <br /> declined. It’s shown by the downturn of the quality of the production. So it caused <br /> the production of Putat mask industry can’t be easily sold, as a result of : 1. the <br /> low quality of the production, 2. the low quality of the design. That’s why this idea <br /> comes the title of the research ”Design Efforts in Increasing the Production <br /> Quality of Mask Industry”. <br /> This research was held to increase the quality of the design and the quality of the <br /> production, as well as to increase the mask production of Putat, Gunung Kidul, <br /> Yogyakarta. <br /> This research is based on the qualitative research, gathering data through <br /> observation, interviewing, data classification and analysis or interpretation. This <br /> work explains a conseptual framework which provides a backgorund to the <br /> problem. <br /> This problem appeared because of diferring hoper of the government and <br /> community people of Indonesia in addressing the raising of the production <br /> quality. <br /> In this part explains the questions which need to be addressed in finding financial <br /> resources for reconstruction. Besides the formula of the question which had to be <br /> smoothed out, there were also research steps which covered up the choice of <br /> method, the clarification of techniques of gathering data and theoretical, some <br /> such thing, in the teaching of theories. The purpose of the framework clarification <br /> is useful in this study of the field data met in the object of the research. <br /> The conclusion of the research is the application of action to the design efforts in <br /> increasing production quality of mask industry of Putat, Gunung Kidul does <br /> increase well, based on the design, quality and the upturn of the mask production, <br /> as well as the development of a commodity for drama, dance, even interior <br /> decoration and the continued development of mask motif exchange with several <br /> shapes and sizes in accordance to market forces within Indonesia or overseas. <br />
