Summary: | <b></i>Abstract :</b><i><p align=\"justify\"> <br />
The preliminary research showed that nickel slag powder has a sufficient potential to be used as an admixture agent in concrete. This indicate to fit in with specification for AS7M C618 and C989. With this potential it is expected capable to provide contribution in high performance concrete production. <br />
<p align=\"justify\"> The nickel slag powder used in this research is the with specific surface in 284 m2/kg (SSA) and 306 m2/kg (SSB). These two powder types are treated as a cement partial subtitution material with subtitution in 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%, and 60%. The target concrete compressive strength is 66 MPa within 28 days o14 both for concrete with nickel slag powder (BSSA and BSSB) or Ordinary Portland Cement Concrete as comparator (BOPC). <br />
<p align=\"justify\"> The testing results showed that an optimum percentages providing a maximum compressive strength is 10% for BSSA and 20% for BSSB. With this optimum percentages, concrete with nickel slag powder (BSSA and BSSB) pose a better workability and a higher strength and durability if compared with concrete without nickel slag powder (BOPC). Extraction for toxicity showed that there is no heavy metals that dangerous for environment. <br />
