Summary: | The committee was formed as a temporary organization to organize an event. OSKM ITB
Committee as the executors for centralized regeneration process formed jointly by new college
students. To form a committee, the selection of the Chairman and complete the organizational
structure is required. The selection of Department Heads and Division Heads comes from the
prerogative rights held by a Chairman. There is no leadership aspect as a consideration to
choose the Division Heads, so the leadership are not going well. Division Heads used their
abilities independently without the best practices. The absence of leadership best practices
raises various problems. Therefore, an evaluation of leadership is needed that can find the best
practices to be implemented in OSKM ITB or other ITB centralized committees in the
following year to develop and optimize the ability and potential of its staffs. This research aims
to find out how the leadership implemented by the interaction and relationship ties between the
Head of Division and their staff in OSKM ITB 2019. This research involved 7 interviewees of
3 categories: Chairman, Division Heads and staffs. Researchers analyze data using the open
coding, axial coding, and selective coding processes. The results are there’s a various
characteristic of interaction and relationship between Division Heads and the staffs in each
division. Factors of success of the Committee consist of internal factors included leaders and
followers as the people in the committee, and the external factor is a factor in addition to the
Committee members, including other parties involved and external situation. The contingency
approach can be used by the Division Heads as guidelines for practical purposes and in various
conditions, so as not to use a rigid concept |
