INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/55100 Ascorbic acid or vitamin C is one of many vitamins which consumed by society to keep the body healthy for the pandemic condition. A source of ascorbic acid may be obtained from vegetables, fruits, or commercial product. Ascorbic acid has benefits as an antioxidant, which can provide protection from oxidation damage. Consumption of ascorbic acid must be in a certain amount, thus people require to choose certain methods to determine the amount of ascorbic acid from a certain product. The method discussed in this research is the voltammetry method using carbon paste electrode modified molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP). Electropolymerization technique was used because of its simplicity and did not take long to use. The advantages of the voltammetry method are simple instrumentation, cheap, and fast analysis. Methyl red was chosen as a monomer because it can form a hydrogen bond with ascorbic acid. The use of carbon paste electrode modified MIP is expected to increase sensitivity, selectivity, have a large linear area, limit of detection is low, and can be applied to analyzing ascorbic acid in commercial samples as the results of a literature study. The use of MIP with methyl red was done in previous studies. However, there are still some parameters that need to be optimized to obtain better electrode performance. text |
