Therefore, anticipatory efforts are needed, such as monitoring natural conditions related to disaster aspects continuously. This task is a mandatory by one of the institutions in Indonesia, namely Badan Meteorologi, Klimatologi dan Geofisika (BMKG). One of the methods to monitor natural conditions can be accomplished by the placement of sensor devices. Sensor devices tends to be located on remote and rural locations to increase the effectiveness of the observation. The sensor device cannot stand alone and requires a remote communication device to transmit data to the receiving station. Apart from only paying attention to the reliability of the transmission link, long-distance communication devices should also pay attention to software reliability and the availability of a web dashboard as a user interface. With a good user interface, it could bring ease for users to access informative data and assist them to take correct and swift decisions. Communication devices that have been designed work in a simplex point-to-point manner with FSK modulation in the 433 and 921 MHz frequency bands. The chosen system design approach is based data logger and telemetry system. The control components used are Arduino Pro Mini as a microcontroller and Raspberry pi as a data logger and web server. The implementation of the software module consists of the transmit-receive function, sensor logger, backup, error checking, alerting and the user interface. Meanwhile, the web dashboard module consists of the main display page, historical data, and user authentication. The conclusion obtained based on the implementation results is that all modules show good accomplishment in accordance with design requirements. Through the development of software and a web dashboard in this communication equipment, it is hoped that it can provide knowledge and assist BMKG's work tasks in disaster monitoring. The suggestion for further development is to study the implementation of the half-duplex feature on the system and the addition of security features on the web dashboard. text |
