However, the existence of the mangrove ecosystem has begun to be threatened and worrying so that it becomes a rare ecosystem in the world because its area is only 2% of the earth's surface. The mangrove area in Batam City is 4.3% of the total area of Batam City. Coastal reclamation activities in the mangrove forest area of Nongsa District caused the death of 100% of the mangroves, which turned the aquatic ecosystem into the land. The mangrove forest conservation area can be developed into a resort that maintains the mangrove ecosystem and becomes a tourist destination for tourists to visit. The Mangrove Forest area that still survives is quite extensive and can be an attraction for tourists visiting Batam City, but it has not been touched by either the government or local entrepreneurs. One of the mangrove forest conservation areas is adjacent to Kampung Tua Terih. The resort will be located on the Nongsa Peninsula with a design area of ±53,000 m2. At the resort, there are four types of lodging with 35 units equipped with supporting facilities, such as restaurants. The resort is expected to provide facilities for recreation and relaxation, provide a sense of calm, take advantage of the existing natural potential, and show the culture of the Riau Islands.. The design of this resort also refers to the local culture, namely the traditional house of the Riau Islands. text
