Sports activities are the activities that are good for humans, especially in terms of maintaining mental and physical health. In supporting these sports activities, special sports facilities such as proper dance gymnastic facilities are needed by the community so that they can do sports activities effectively. In Makassar City, there are no special gymnastic-dance sports facilities other than Karebosi Field which is specifically made as an outdoor sports facility, and there are no special semi-indoor or indoor sports facilities for the same type of sports for the user’s own comfortability. Based on these problems, data collection method was carried out to find out the needs of the gymnastic sports facilities that are needed by the people of Makassar City. The research methods used in this research are the literature survey method and the questionnaire method, where from the literature survey, it can be seen the definition and standards of public spaces and gymnastic sports facilities, and from the questionnaire data can be obtained how urgent the needs of the people of Makassar City for gymnastic-dance sports facilities and what is needed in designing these facilities. From this data collection, it is known that there are people who are satisfied with the sports facilities that are currently available, and there are also those who are not satisfied with the existing sports facilities and write down their needs and wishes for this dance gymnastics sport facility design planning. The most dominant thing needed by the people of Makassar City in designing gymnastic-dance sports facilities is a closed building to support comfort for its users, can not be affected by weather changes, does not interfere with public activities on the road, and also about the acoustic problems so the outside society can not be disturbed by the music that is used in doing the dance gymnastic sport. From this method, there are also some of the essential facilities known to be needed by the people, such as a sports court and jogging track, shower room, locker, laundry, restaurant, clothing and sports equipment store, and office for administrators of this dance gymnastic sport facility.
