| Summary: | Adopting pets has become a lifestyle for most people in urban society. Along with this lifestyle, people are also more aware of pet welfare. However, this is not always the case, and some people still lack pet welfare and abuse their pets. This research started with a review and online observational studies related to pet issues in Indonesia. From observations and data collection results, there are several issues related to pet welfare and the contributing factors, namely due to the lack of knowledge, awareness, and empathy of the community towards pets. The proposed design focuses on two things: handling efforts by saving pets and providing a place to live for pets, also prevention efforts by giving insights related to the importance of pet welfare through a lifestyle approach or the culture of today's society, which in this case by providing Coworking space facility. The combination of the two facilities is named the Pet Lifestyle and Shelter Complex. This facility targeted visitors such as the pet lovers community, teenagers, and young adults. Noah's Ark used a design concept that refers to the story of hoping that this facility can save and protect animals or pets. There is three philosophical keywords concept for this facility design. Freedom: refers to the five principles of animal welfare, Upbeat: refers to active and healthy pets, and Unity: makes visitors understand the importance of pets' welfare and lives side by side with humans. |
