Summary: | Demak Regency has run into significant coastline erosion up to 2,5 km from 1984 to 2021. This caused villagers on the Demak coastline, have a threat if someday their homes would sink. Now, the problem is overcome by using the concept of Building with Nature (BwN). This concept is applied as permeable structures and mangrove development. Structures permeable has been built since 2015 and is able to capture sediment up to 45 cm in 1,5 years. This amount of sediment can be increased by modifying the geometric shape of permeable placement. The purpose of this study is to analyze the geometric shape of the permeable structures that are most effective in capturing sediment and reducing erosion that occurs due to hydrodynamic processes on the coast of Demak, Central Java. The analysis was carried out by comparing the existing permeable structure and the modified. The modified is expected to capture more sediment than the existing permeable structure. The numerical analysis and modeling of the study were conducted using DELFT3D The application can simulate currents, waves and sediment transports that occur. This study proposes the best recommendation to solve the erosion problem that occurs in Demak. By this recommendation, Demak Coastline is more protected from abrasion and the lost areas can be restored faster. |
