| Summary: | Nowadays, the backpack traveling style has become a standard urban lifestyle. This traveling style emphasizes in cheap and practical travel, which causes the popularity of capsule hotels in tourist destinations to skyrocket. The potential of capsule hotels as a type of accommodation for travellers on a budget made it a suitable medium to introduce the local culture to the travellers. Using the literature review method, this project mainly focuses on the interior design of a capsule hotel in Bandung, a tourist area in West Java. The ultimate goal of this project is to design the interior of the capsule hotel with a touch of Sundanese culture, which is attractive to visitors and reflective of the local culture. The main concept of the proposed design is the assimilation of Sundanese culture with a modern design style. |
