Summary:The pandemic pushes people to be more aware of personal hygiene and health, all for the sake of not getting infected by contagious diseases. Inspired by the usage of hazmat suits for medical workers and the need for protection from the COVID-19 virus, this project aims to create protective clothing that could be worn daily in everyday lives. Redesigning and recreating hazmat suits into fashion products with high aesthetic value that is relatable to the current athleisure trend and the rising of active sportswear, while still maintaining its functionality as protective clothing. Thermochromic pigments are also studied and developed for this work, with screen printing as its technique of application, with developments on its aesthetic and functional aspects on fashion. The final product of this research is a design impression development for fashion with the application of thermochromic pigments as an indicator for abnormal body temperature. Combining both present concerns and the imagination of how the future will be, this project is a form of an optimistic desire for mankind to learn from its mistakes and move forward towards a better tomorrow.
