Beside, there is a demand from the buyer for a higher product quality.<p align=\"justify\"> <br /> A Multimachine Replacement Model (Suresh [1992]) is used to solve the problem. The model takes into account the costs, benefits and effective utilization of the machine in obtaining the optimal machine replacement sequence, that is, one bringing into the best economics benefit to the company during the transition and later periods.<p align=\"justify\"> <br /> The objective function of the model is to maximize the Net Present Value (NPV) of the after-tax cash flows over the planning horizon. This solution indudes the replacement sequence for the current machines and the implementation sequence for the new modules.<p align=\"justify\"> <br /> The optimal replacement sequence for the problem is the 233 alternative. This alternative gives the NPV amount of Rp. 693,451,272. This sequence gives the replacement schedule in 2001 for the first machine, and in 2002 for the rest of the machines. text |
