The problems that occur in modern times where excessive consumption to buy clothes is too much and the resulting waste increases, resulting in problems with the solution that will be raised from the research report is a concept that prioritizes the form of change, namely transformational design. The concept of Transformational Design is a concept where one outfit can change into two or more different forms that have characteristics according to the original form. In other words, it can provide many choices to the wearer, thus it will be a solution to reduce the purchase of excess clothing and reduce textile waste. In this study, an exploration of clothing that can be transformed will be carried out by adapting the technique of making motifs originating from Japan, namely suminagashi. This technique is a technique to print a pattern using ink that floats on the surface of the water. Exploration of Suminagashi technique motifs in clothing that is transformed into the topic chosen as the research title. This title will embody the development of transformational clothing as well as popularize the suminagashi technique and ready-to-wear clothes which are then modified into more modern clothing to keep up with the times. Ready to wear clothing can be an attraction and interest for consumers because it is a familiar impression of clothing because it is a garment that is worn everyday.
