Municipal waste management in Indonesia has become an actual problem in line with the increasing rate of population growth which has an impact on the large amount of waste produced. Waste is a national problem so that its management must be carried out comprehensively. Public awareness of the importance of protecting the environment must also be increased, such as not littering, sorting waste and minimizing the use of plastic waste by using reuseable products which can also help the authorities in waste management. Improvement is needed in these innovations and of course still maintains environmental principles. In the context of solving the waste problem, changing lifestyle and consumption patterns/behaviour is an approach that must be initiated. Therefore, it is necessary to have innovation to change the paradigm of society for the better. The designers have the task of creating an design for environmentally friendly, through green design or sustainable design and also thinking about a system that keeps the design functioning properly and sustainably. The design of the Waste Recycling Educational Center Facility is one of the innovations to build public awareness of the environment, especially in waste problem. This facility is expected to provide experience to the community and intervene in the community towards environmental awareness through a sustainable approach.
