The development of natural dyes for textiles can be done in many ways, one of which is the ecoprint technique. The ecoprint technique is a technique of giving colours or patterns to fabrics through direct contact with leaves, flowers, stems or other plant parts that have colour pigments (Bohr, 2020). The need for plants as the main material of this ecoprint technique makes the processing of these techniques inspired by plants, especially those in Indonesia. The three plants whose flowers are designated as the national flower of Indonesia, namely white jasmine (Jasminum sambac), moon orchid (Phalaenopsis amabilis), and giant lotus flower (Rafflesia arnoldii). The three flowers are said to represent the identity of Indonesia and are declared as Indonesia's national flowers based on Presidential Decree (KEPPRES) No. 4 of 1993. This research was conducted by exploring the ecoprint technique based on the inspiration of the Indonesian national flower, which was then implemented in the form of fashion products. text |
