Summary: | Pelabuhanratu is located on the southern coast of West Java province and is directly opposite the Indian Ocean. Based on the Tectonic Map of the Indonesian Archipelago (PUSGEN, 2017), the Pelabuhanratu area is in the Megathrust segment of the Sunda Strait, which has the potential to produce a tectonic earthquake measuring 8.7 Mw. This research was conducted to analyze the impact of potential tsunami inundation on the land cover on the coast of Pelabuhanratu District, which was then carried out further analysis and data processing to determine the index and level of environmental vulnerability to tsunamis on the coast of Pelabuhanratu District. To achieve the research objectives, it is necessary first to determine the area of land cover affected by the tsunami. The percentage of the submerged land cover area will be scored and weighted according to (Windupranata, 2020. In Preparation) to produce an index value and the level of environmental vulnerability on the coast of Pelabuhanratu District. The land cover parameters used during scoring and weighting were conservation forest, protection forest, production forest, and shrubs/shrubs.
This study indicates that the area of submerged land cover is 652.29 ha, or 30% of the total land cover area. Settlements and rice fields are the land cover that has the largest affected area. At the sub-district level, the environmental vulnerability index value was obtained at 1.1 with a relatively low level of environmental vulnerability.
