Description
Summary:Mangrove forest is one of the coastal constituent ecosystems that can support life in coastal areas. Mangrove forests have high biodiversity and contribute to the sustainability of the ecosystem. Indonesia is one of the countries that have the largest mangrove forest in the world, but apart from that, some of the mangrove forests are in a damaged condition. Various kinds of both anthropogenic and naturogenic factors cause increased damage to mangrove ecosystems, while the rehabilitation process takes a long time. It was recorded that there was a decrease in the area of the mangrove forest because of changes in land use. This Final Project research was made to know the distribution of mangrove forests and the magnitude of their changes spatially-temporal which are presented in the form of thematic maps in the period 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020. Then analyze the relationship by looking at the correlation between changes in mangrove forests wiith an area of coastal land use in Legonkulon District. The methodology used is remote sensing technology using the NDVI method in mapping mangrove forests. To see the changes that occur, it is modeled using spatial analysis in the Geographical Information System. The results obtained can then be calculated for the change in the area using cross-tabulation. Meanwhile, the method used to analyze the relationship used Pearson correlation method modeling and linear regression to see the relationship between changes in the mangrove forest and land-use area. Based on the results of processing, there is a decrease in the area of the mangrove forest every year. The administrative area of Tegalurung has the largest mangrove forest area for 5 year periods from 2015 to 2020 and the lowest is in Legonkulon village. In addition, there were significant changes in 2017-2018 seen from the results of the percentage change of 52%. The decline and change in mangrove forests are related to an increase in the pond area and shifting of the coastline, which is indicated by an increase in the water area that crosses administrative boundaries. Based on the results of the relationship analysis that have a high correlation coefficient value are ponds and water bodies where the bigger the pond area and the area of the water bodies, the greater the changes that occur in the mangrove forest. There is also the regression value or the largest R square value in the pond and water class which shows that if the area of the pond and the area of these waters can have a correlation that can explain changes in mangrove forests. It is hoped that this map can overcome existing problems and support decision-making for mangrove forest sustainability and can be used as a reference for the restoration or maintenance of mangrove land.
