Description
Summary:Tidal flood is a flood caused by rising sea levels (tides), so that water from the sea inundates the land area. Over time, the tidal floods that occur will get worse due to an increase in sea level due to the continuing global warming phenomenon. Tidal floods occur frequently in the northern coastal areas of Java Island, such as Jakarta, Semarang, and Pekalongan. This study aims to produce a thematic map of potential tidal flood areas and to analyze the dangers of tidal flooding that occur in residential area in Pekalongan City. The method used in the formation of the tidal flood inundation model is the Raster Calculator tool in the ArcGIS software. The model is formed based on the parameters of topography height and sea level height at high tide condition. The process of tidal flood hazard analysis is carried out by overlaying the resulting tidal flood inundation model with a land cover map of residential areas. The results of flood inundation modeling were carried out using two scenarios, the first scenario using HHWL height of 1.38 m and the second scenario using an HAT height of 1.41 m. The resulting total inundation area based on the tidal flood inundation model is 944.04 ha with the HHWL scenario and 994.81 ha with the HAT scenario. From the calculation, it is known that the inundation area in the residential area is 135.63 ha with the first scenario and 140.44 ha with the second scenario. The number of people affected by tidal flood inundation with the first scenario is estimated to be around 9,207 people and with the second scenario is estimated to be around 9,534 people.
