Water shortage is one of the main problems that occurs during dry season. The quality of groundwater and surface water and its availability for consumption are very important to be studied further. In addition, Arjasari district is part of the Citarum Watershed that needs to be studied for sustainable management of its watershed in the long term. Therefore, this study aimed to identify geological and hydrogeological settings of the study area. The geomorphology of the study area covers two units, namely Baleendah Remaining Volcanic Hills Unit and the Malabar Volcanic Ridge Unit. Stratigraphy of the study area (from younger to older) consists of three units, namely Baleendah Volcanic Complex comprising Baleendah Lava Unit (Bl) and Malabar Volcanic Complex comprising Malabar Pyroclastic Flow Unit (Ma) and Malabar Pyroclastic Fall Unit (Mj). The geological structures that involve in this study area are the primary structure of sheeting joint in Baleendah Lava Unit and secondary structure of Tarikolot Normal Fault. The aquifer of the study area is unconfined aquifer, which is classified into three units, namely Andesite Lava Aquifer, Pyroclastic Breccia Aquifer, and Tuff Aquifer. Based on values of TDS and pH, the quality of groundwater and surface water of the study area is categorized as suitable for drinking water referring to the regulation of Minister of Health of Indonesia number 492/Menkes/Per/IV/2010 concerning Drinking Water Quality with a pH value range from 6,59 – 7,98 and TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) 19,1 – 241,9 mg/l. The interaction between groundwater and surface water in the study area is generally effluent. text
