Indonesia, where the majority of its energy sources come from fossil energy, will be facing an issue about the imbalance between energy supply and demand. To overcome this problem, it can be done to suppress the amount of energy demand, especially through increasing the efficiency of energy use in the building sector. In this research, a study will be conducted on the impact of the PMV (Predicted Mean Vote)-based HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) system set-point setting method on energy savings potential and peak load curves reductions potential in an office building. The set-point will be changed hourly on a regular basis with the set-point value that can provide the most optimal PMV value. The building being tested will be modeled through the eQuest software which will then be validated using the building's actual daily electrical load profile. From the simulation results using the eQuest software, further data processing will be carried out through the MATLAB software. The results obtained show that setting the set-point per hour on a regular basis based on the optimal PMV value can save the building's HVAC energy consumption for one year by 178.51 kWh or 12.39%. text |
