AN EXPLORATORY FACTOR ANALYSIS OF ACCOMMODATION SELECTION DURING PANDEMIC COVID-19

The rapid growth of services business is one of the impacts of globalization. The development of the growth of this business also provides changes in consumer behavior. Consumer behavior in consuming service products and all decisions made are influenced by existing conditions. Especially during the ongoing pandemic, tourism business services are a business that is very much affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. All decisions of tourists during their trip will be influenced by the conditions that occur, including the decision of tourists in choosing accommodation to stay during their trip. Puncak area, Bogor is one of the tourist destinations that is never empty every week. This pandemic condition also has an impact on tourism activities in the Puncak area, Bogor. This study aims to identify the factors of accommodation selection by tourists and to identify the dominant factors in the formed factors. The method used in this research is exploratory factor analysis and crosstab analysis. The research was conducted in Puncak area, Bogor by distributing questionnaires online. There were 120 data collected and processed using IBM SPSS Statistics 26. The results of the factor analysis found that there were 21 variables that eliminated from 45 formulated variables and 5 factors were formed as factors for tourist’s decisions in accommodation selection. The results of the factor analysis and cross tabulation analysis also show that the Covid-19 Protocol Factor is the factor that has the highest level of diversity and the most important factor to be considered in accommodation selection by the tourists during the Covid-19 pandemic.
