Regardless of many kinds of mordant uses in the rust dyeing process, the number of colors produced out it is quite limited to its natural characteristic, but at the same time, the unique amount of pattern created with this technique is unlimited. The pattern created by rust dyeing will always be different in every experiment, and this is one of the unique features of rust dyeing. This research is carried out further to develop the potential of rust dyeing and utilize it as a visualization medium for the global wildfire phenomenon. This study also aims to create an exploration of rust dyeing techniques that visualize the global wildfire phenomenon and apply it to fashion products. This research uses a qualitative descriptive and explorative approach as the process mainly contains analysis study and exploring the rust dyeing technique up till a representative visualization is formed. Along with the study, this research underlies a project that aims to launch a collection of fashion products that represents three main areas most affected by the forest fire disaster after the global wildfire trend, namely the Amazon Rainforest, California, and Australia. Encoding with the main inspiration of the global wildfire trend that causes havoc across the world, this collection of fashion products adheres to the deconstructed style which has the main principle of destroying fashion. This collection of fashion products is the final result that will show the optimum potential of rust dyeing technique in creating specific visual, in this case; global wildfire. Further research opportunities are open in the topic of extension on rust dyeing techniques on fashion products and research in the form of campaigns on the topic of forest fires and climate change. text |
