Terminal Petikemas Surabaya is one of subsidiary PT Pelabuhan Indonesia III (Persero) which is engaged in container terminal services with the most complete handling equipment in Eastern Indonesia, which makes Tanjung Perak Port the 2nd busiest port in Indonesia. Related to that, Surabaya Container Terminal generates the largest throughput capacity compared to other container terminals at Tanjung Perak Port, such as PT Terminal Teluk Lamong and PT Berlian Jasa Terminal Indonesia. On this thesis, the discussion includes the design of the dock operation pattern, the design of the stacking field operation pattern, the determination of horizontal transportation needs, and the calculation of container handling costs and tariffs. The design of the dock operation pattern includes the design of a combination of berths at the dock, determining the type and number of container loading and unloading equipment at the dock, calculating the productivity of loading and unloading equipment, and calculating the capacity of the dock. The capacity of the designed container terminal wharf is 1,502,982 TEU/year. The design of the operating system in the stacking field includes determining the orientation of the container stacking, determining the type and number of stacking field organizers, calculating the productivity of the stacking field organizers, and calculating the capacity of the stacking field. The capacity of the designed container terminal stacking yard is 1,711,255 TEU/year. Determining the need for horizontal transportation includes determining the type and number of horizontal transportation equipment. The horizontal transportation equipment used is 140 truck trailers, and the calculation of capital costs and determination of container handling rates includes calculating the total capital cost, calculating the total expenditure and income per year during the payback period, and determining the container handling rate. text |
