Description
Summary:Abstract
In this thesis, an experiment has been carried out on the formation of Bi-2212 superconducting crystals by self-flux method at temperature of 890° C. For the study of influences of flux quantity and melting time, the syntheses were conducted with the molar ratio of the flux varied between 0.01 and 0.025 while the melting time was fixed at 15 minutes and 30 minutes. Characterization of samples with XRD spectra reveals that sample with flux ratio 0.025 and 30 minutes melting time has the highest volume fraction of 2212 phase (93.29%). The highest degree of crystal orientation (94.85%) was found in the sample obtained with 0.02 molar ratio of the flux and 30 minutes melting time.
The R-T curve shows that sample with 0.025 molar ratio of the flux and 30 minutes melting time has the highest critical temperatur (Tc on = \'13.48K) and smallest width of transition temperature (DTc = 4.60K).
The result indicates the existence of corelation between volume fraction of 2212 phase and critical temperature. Futher, the SEM photos exhibit the largest grain size (38.2p.m) in the sample obtained with 0.025 molar ratio of the flux and 30 minutes melting time.
