Summary: | Cosplay is a performance activity carried out by individuals in a community, the activity of demonstrating costumes that represent figures in Japanese popular culture such as from anime and games. A review of cosplay on aesthetic aspects and aspects of the manufacturing process needs to be studied more deeply. because the design of cosplay which is made manually with the skill of the hands in processing the material which focuses on aesthetic value is a characteristic of the craft field. The problem lies in: (a) thereis no clear study that looks at the production process in making cosplay with an emphasis on aesthetic values. (b) the need for an explanation of the relationship between the aesthetic form of cosplay and the characters from anime or games who are the rationale for making cosplay. The purpose of this research is to review, among others: (a) the aesthetic form of cosplay in its parts. (b) a form of visual adaptation review in the form of a relationship between the aesthetic form of cosplay and characters from anime or games. In this study, a qualitative aesthetic approach was used with a visual adaptation review to describe the elements in the aesthetic object by looking for a correlation between the form of cosplay and the nature of anime or game characters. Based on the analysis in the visual adaptation review of cosplay, it can be concluded that the form of cosplay intraesthetically is not only wearing wigs, makeup, costumes and accessories, but extra-aesthetically feels like a character who plays a character in the anime or game by delving into the story behind the character being portrayed |
