STUDY ON THE RELATIONSHIP OF NITRATE CONTENTS OF HOUSEHOLDS DRINKING WATER WITH THE USE OF WATER RESERVOIRS
Many people at this time have used water reservoirs in their respective homes. This water reservoir is usually used as a container for drinking water when the PDAM (Regional Drinking Water Company) network is disrupted in the form of a leak that hinders the distribution of drinking water. This water reservoir is usually used as a container for drinking water when the PDAM (Regional Drinking Water Company) network is disrupted in the form of a leak that hinders the distribution of drinking water. Water in reservoirs that is underground is usually susceptible to contamination, especially nitrate, which is the most abundant substance in the soil. Therefore, it is necessary to prove the truth regarding the use of water reservoirs for household / consumer purposes which will experience contamination from domestic waste as indicated by the amount of nitrate (NO3). The indicators that will be checked are mainly nitrate, with the supporting indicators that will be checked are temperature, pH, turbidity, free chlorine, and electrical conductivity. The method used to measure the nitrate content in household drinking water is the Brucin-spectrophotometric method. Overall, the quality of drinking water in household reservoirs in Bandung City has met quality standards. The nitrate level in drinking water that has been carried out research has an average of 2.5 mg / L, which means that the nitrate concentration value is below 10 mg / L which is the quality standard. text |
