Summary: | Currently, every continent in the world has been hit by an extraordinary infectious disease called the COVID-19 pandemic as a result many countries are facing an economic crisis, one of which is Indonesia. The economic crisis in Indonesia was marked by a decline in GDP growth and an increase in the number of unemployed. One of the industries affected by the economic crisis was the automotive industry, which experienced a significant decline in sales. The object of this research is PT Indomobil Sukses Internasional Tbk (IMAS) and PT Industri and Trade Bintraco Dharma Tbk (CARS) which have similar main businesses, namely as distributors of automotive vehicles and other business activities in the field of assembling automotive vehicles. The data used are financial statements for 2019-2020 (Q1-Q4). Meanwhile, to analyze the data using financial ratio analysis, paired t-test and PEST analysis. The results of this study indicate that there are significant differences in profitability ratios, activity ratios and liquidity ratios before and during the economic crisis in 2020, in addition, based on the results of the PEST analysis, one of which is the existence of government policies to support sales in the automotive industry, namely by making policies PPnBM tax relaxation. Therefore, the authors provide some financial strategy suggestions for CARS and IMAS managers to improve their financial performance and take advantage of opportunities from external factors to increase sales. |
