Description
Summary:E-waste and household hazardous waste are specific waste that need to be treated differently with household waste in general. In Indonesia, these two type of waste haven’t been managed properly and still ended up in landfill. Through this bachelor thesis, the writer designs an e-waste and household hazardous waste management system with Tangerang City as its case study. Tangerang City through its Environment Agency has attempted to segregate those type of waste with provision of segregated public waste bins with hazardous classification and provision of e-waste dropbox in big events, but both attempts don’t work properly. From the primary data sampling, it is known that the composition of household hazardous waste in Tangerang City is 0.21% or 17,553.29 kg/day, and also 1,815 units of handphone waste are generated everyday. To process those waste, Tangerang City needs to design collection systems for both type of waste and a specific waste and hazardous waste temporary collection site in Rawa Kucing Final Disposal Area which will be operating from 2022 to 2032. The collection system that will be used for househuld hazardous waste is using hazardous classified trash bags which is targeted to process 1.701 tonnes/day or 59.7% household hazardous waste in Tangerang City. Then, the collection system that will be used for e-waste is using dropboxes that will provided in sub-district offices, malls, and waste banks which is targeted to process 2,428 units of handphone waste everyday.
