The industrial and transportation sectors are the largest contributors to particulate emissions. Particulate compounds measuring <2,5 microns (PM2,5) are become serious attention because they have a dangerous impact on health, especially on the human respiratory system. Cirebon districts is an area with a high level of air pollution, this is because Cirebon have a dense area of transportation and has various types of industries. One of the efforts to improve air quality is by identifying sources of PM2,5 emissions. This study aims to measure the concentration of PM2,5 in ambient air and to find out how much trace elements contribute to the PM2,5 concentration so that the contribution of PM2.5 emission sources can be identified as PM2,5 concentration in sub-district Gempol ambient air. The study was conducted in three locations, namely Kedung Bunder Indah village as the main location with a required 30 samples, SMPN 1 Gempol and the Walahar village office as control locations with 5 samples each required. Sampling was conducted 24 hours per day. The identification of PM2,5 emission sources was conducted using the Positive Matrix Factorization (PMF) receptor model. The measurement results showed that the average concentration value of PM2.5 in the Gempol region was 49,9 ± 12,25 µg / Nm3. The results of identification using the PMF model obtained PM2,5 emission sources in the Cirebon region consist, road dust/ Fe dust, cement industry, used batteries smelting, diesel vehicle and mix biomass burning & sea salt. text
