Description
Summary:The retail industry is one of the backbones of the Indonesian economy. This industry provides various kinds of people's needs such as food, clothing, and various other daily needs. One of the classic problems faced by the retail industry is how stores handle long queues. According to research that has been done, the long queues lead to reduced potential revenue that can be received by the store. One way that can be taken to overcome this problem is to apply digitization to the payment process. With the development of the right system, it is hoped that the time for each payment process will be reduced. Therefore, this final project will be aimed at building a payment system that can handle payments faster. The system will be built with RFID technology that is connected to a microcontroller. The microcontroller will then be connected to a server with a WiFi network to store transaction data in a database owned by the server. There are two tests that will be used. The first test is to test the speed of handling transactions. The aim is to ensure that the system created is able to overcome the problems previously mentioned. The second test aims to test the reliability of the system to be built. The metric that will be used is the number of transactions that have been successfully carried out and stored from the total number of transactions made during the test. The conclusion that can be drawn from the results of this final project is that this system can be used to implement the payment process without the help of a cashier employee. The main advantages of this system are faster transaction processing, which is about 2 seconds, complete data storage, and relatively low implementation costs, where the system only costs around 100 thousand rupiah per checkout line.
