Description
Summary:Abstract:

A free network adjustment comes up with a singular system of the normal equation. Therefore, Generalized Inverse Matrices ( GIM ) theory has to be applied in solving the normal equation.
Three methods in solving such a singular normal equation are investigated, i.e. Singular Value Decomposition ( SVD ), Matrix Diagonalization ( MD ), and Truncated Triangular Decomposition (TTD ). These method are applied in geodetic network adjustment. In this research, a GPS network in Semarang - Central Java, as a part of ILAP - BPN Project, is used as a case study. The network solution, as a comparison, is also computed by GEOLAB software.
Based on numerical consistency, the SVD shows the best.
