Summary: | Bandung is the largest metropolitan city in West Java Province. The existence of
urban kampong in Bandung has existed since the Dutch colonial period. Over time,
the quality of life in the urban kampong settlements will decrease if the development
is not considered. Urban kampong settlements have various problems that cause
these settlements to become unfit for habitation due to their decreased quality of
life. As for the problems that are very often highlighted in urban kampong are the
high population density causes a lack of space for social functions. This results in
the low availability of open space for means of interaction between residents. This
condition will cause the quality of life in the urban village settlements to decrease.
In addition, in accordance with the 11th Sustainable Development Goal (SDGs),
there are aspirations to create cities and settlements that are safe, resilient,
inclusive and sustainable so that the issue of the need for adequate housing is a
primary need that needs to be prioritized in its handling.
Therefore, the purpose of this study is to determine the level of quality of life of
urban kampong settlements in city center of Bandung as seen from the perspective
of community subjectivity and objectivity or according to existing conditions in the
field. The approach used is to use a quantitative approach with the analysis used
in this study is the analysis of the distribution of urban villages, scoring techniques,
comparative analysis, and multiple linear regression analysis.
Cities can only live because of the existence of their villages, while villages can
also live because they are belong tothe city. At the same time, it cannot be denied
that the village is also full of various problems. The final result of the analysis
carried out is that the level of quality of life based on subjectivity is 76% and based
on objectivity is 73.7%. In addition, an analysis was also carried out to find out
what variables had the most influence in increasing the quality of life and it was
found that the variables of residential conditions and the level of employment
income were the most influential variables in increasing the quality of life of urban
village settlements in City Center of Bandung, while the least influential was wateriv
cleanliness variable. The existence of the village cannot be separated from the
wider context of the city environment. Therefore, in order to improve the quality of
life of urban kampung settlements in city center of Bandung, you can see what
variables are the most influential. In addition, improving the quality of life in the
village must also be synergized with urban development and renovation programs. |
