To support the activities of the population, there are various types of transportation available in Indonesia, one of which is buses. As the number of buses in Indonesia increases, the potential for accidents involving buses also continues to increase. Rollover accidents are a type of bus accident that takes the most casualties, so testing the strength of the bus structure in the rollover case needs to be regulated through regulations, one of which is the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe Regulation No. 66 (UNECE R66). Rollover testing using a bus superstructure is costly, so a numerical simulation can be performed in some cases as an alternative. However, the simulation using the complete model takes a very long time. Therefore, simplifications need to be made on the rollover model so that the simulation time can be shortened. Model simplification is done by eliminating the parts of the bus that do not come into contact with the dummy. The simplified model will be used to analyze four potential injuries that passengers may experience in rollover cases, namely head, neck, thoracic, and femur injuries. The analysis will refer to the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 208. Simulation using a simplified model can reduce the simulation time by up to 23 hours compared to the simulation using the bus body section model. The results obtained are quite satisfactory because they are close to the results of the model before simplification in most of the analyzed cases. text
