Film as an art and entertainment media has been known in Indonesia since a first screening in 1926. Right after that milestone event, Indonesia has always produce and show film throughout the times until now. The lowlight of Indonesian film industry in the 1990s has give us a lesson that instead of abandoning Indonesian film to such level, we must learn to appreciate and help to built a healthy environment for Indonesian film industry. Concerning that situation, our community, especially the young ones that will build the future world, have to know the history of film in Indonesia through remains of the past. Those remains of Indonesian film industry has been well kept by Sinematek Indonesia. The problem is that the institution has not been giving an optimal contribution in terms of giving a comprehensive information about their collection about Indonesian film history. Based on that situation, an Indonesian Museum of Film is needed. In term of designing Indonesian Film Museum, a comprehensive analyzing and observation concerning all aspects about filming is needed, in order to create space or increase space quality so that the facility can be functional according to the design themes. Occuring problems in the filming industry activities became a consideration for designer to create a design as a problem solving for this matter through design concepts. Design themes and design concepts in this project are based in existing problems related to filming. Implementations of these concepts are applied in various aspects, like colour concept, lighting concept, material concept, etc. so that the desired themes or images can be reached.
